The Big Sur Marathon has finally arrived with the races kicking off bright and early Sunday morning. Named “The Best Marathon in North America” by the Ultimate Guide to Marathons, races will make the 26.2 mile journey up Highway 1 starting at 6:45 in the morning and finish at the Rio Road intersection. Other fun events include a 21-miler, 10.6 miler, 12K, 5K Marathon Relay and By-the-Bay 3K. It’s always an exciting weekend around here, but you may need to adjust your travel times if you’re trying to get around town on Sunday morning.
Carmel bounced back this week with 4 closed escrows led by San Antonio 3NE of Ocean closing for $4.25M (less than 1% off the list price and just 45 days on the market). The three other closed escrows all came in the Northeast corner of Carmel and came in under $1.5M. Although there weren’t any new sales in Carmel over the past week, we saw an uptick in showings and are certain we’ll see a rebound next week.
Pebble Beach held steady with 3 closed escrows and 2 new sales. 1202 Hawkins Way led the pack with a final sales price of $2.7M. This home had been available on and off the market for the past several years with an original list price of $3.25M and needed some updating but had a great setting overlooking the 14th hole of Spyglass. The other sales included a Mediterranean house on Stevenson that closed at $1.912M (3.4% off of list price) and a rancher on 17 Mile Drive by Spanish Bay that sold for $1.665M (0.8% off list price). The new sales this week were 1088 Oasis Road, centrally located in the MPCC area, listed for $1.799M and 3097 Sloat listed for $1.175M.
