BRIGHTEN THE HARBOR HOLIDAY BOAT PARADE

The Monterey Peninsula gathers this weekend at Breakwater Cove and Marina to kick off the month of December with the annual “Brighten the Harbor” holiday boat parade. Boats decorated with lights illuminate the bay by reflecting off the water and groups gather for family fun, games, and hot chocolate. We are looking forward to attending and hope to see you there! The market maintained a steady pace this week with 2 closed escrows (both in Pebble) and 9 new sales (3 in Pebble, 6 in Carmel) in our subject regions.

A remodel opportunity on the 18th Fairway of the Dunes at MPCC went into contract after 2 weeks on the market (list price: $1.595M), as did a 70’s-built Rancher backing the 5th tee at the same course (list price: $1.395M, original list price: $1.45M, DOM = 85) and an updated Contemporary style home near Spyglass Hill which fell out of escrow last month (list price: $1.25M, DOM = 82).

The 2 closed escrows this week both occurred in Carmel: a charming remodeled cottage in the Golden Rectangle sold full price after 2 weeks on the market at $2.575M and an Italian-inspired hideaway just North of Ocean Avenue clocked in at 2.8% off list price ($2.04M) after 1 year on the market. New sales in Carmel included a spacious Ranch style home on a ¾ acre lot in SE Carmel (list price: $2.675M, original list price: $3.175M, DOM = 202), a cottage with ocean views and a separate guest unit (list price: $1.978M, DOM = 162), a partially updated 1940’s-built Traditional home on a large lot in Hatton Fields (list price: $1.55M, original list price: $1.69M, DOM = 88), a cozy vintage cottage with updated baths in NE Carmel on the market for 2 weeks (list price: $1.45M), a dated single story with detached studio near Hatton Canyon on the market for just 1 week (list price: $1.279M), and a partially updated cottage in NE Carmel (list price: $1.149M, original list price: $1.285M) which was on the market for roughly 6 months.

Carmel Highlands, Quail, and the Preserve had a quiet week; we have no recent activity to report in these subregions.
