A Historic Week

After 10 years on the market, the historic Chappellet estate changed hands this week with a final sale price of $16.5M. Originally built around 1908 in the same style as the original Pebble Beach Lodge, we’re honored to have represented the buyers of this incredibly special property.

The rest of the market continues to march along at a steady pace with 5 new sales and 6 additional closed escrows. Pebble Beach saw two of the new sales including an older home on the second green of MPCC’s shore course listed for $1.495M and a home up on Congress listed for $995K. In addition to the Chappellet sale, there were three other closed escrows in Pebble this week: a craftsman with views overlooking MPCC and the coastline closed for $4.44M, a colonial on Riata closed for $2.35M and a recently renovated house on Los Altos Drive closed for $1.55M. It’s good to see movement across all price brackets, not just below $2M.

Carmel had a strong week with three new sales and two closed escrows. The Golden Rectangle had two of the new sales, including a high quality cottage on Casanova and 12th that had been on the market for 1.5 years and listed for $3.65M. The second new sale was a renovated house on San Antonio and 11th with ocean views that’s listed for $2.195M. Carmel Point had one new sale and both of the closed escrows in Carmel this week. The new sale was a renovated Mediterranean on Bay View listed for $3.5M and the closed escrows were 26290 Valley View that sold for $3.1M and 2696 Santa Lucia that sold for $1.35M.
